To Support the City’s Mission By Providing Citizens With Safe,  Unrestricted Street Surfaces, Maintaining Traffic Control Devices and Providing Departments with Cost Effective Vehicle Maintenance Services

The Coeur d’Alene Street Department maintains over 250 center lane miles of road and right-of-way (ROW), 64 signalized intersections, 12,000 street signs and 500 permanent pavement markings. Other maintenance responsibilities performed include the Stormwater Utility maintenance (sweeping, swale restoration, hard pipe cleaning), sidewalk repair and replacement to bring into Americans with Dis ablities Act (ADA) compliance as well as support of the many Special Events such as (4th of July, Car d'lane, Ironman, Street Fair). The Department also provides a total maintenance one stop shop for the city fleet and 360 various pieces of equipment.
